Enter Art Fair 2025
Between Hope and Despair
For Enter Art Fair 2025, we have made a careful selection of works of art, and curated an exhibition that will retain its form throughout the fair. We have chosen to show five of our Norwegian artists: Nikolai Torgersen, Linda Soh Trengereid, Tom Kosmo, Marcus Soddano and Eirik Falckner. We have made a compilation of artists and works of art that are all colored by something we can describe as a Nordic obscurity/doubleness, or "Nordic Noir" if you like. By this we mean that all participating artists possess and demonstrate a strong understanding and fascination with Norwegian nature in all its essence, and their art carries elements of melancholy, longing, adventurousness and legend. All the works possess a romantic element of dualism, or tension between opposites, such as nature versus culture, darkness versus light, hope versus despair. The works also have a common feature in that they are technically and artistically well executed. The exhibition has a focus on the aesthetic and material expression, but is also an attempt to show how the surreal, the romantic, the spiritual and the pantheistic are becoming increasingly relevant in contemporary art.
The exhibition features painting, works on paper, and sculpture in ceramics and wood.
It is curated by Simone and Erlend Aalbæk Høyersten.
